Thursday, October 29, 9 – 11, Tlaquepaque, 336 State Route 179, Sedona
Arizona Pastel Artists Association and Arizona Plein Air Painters are plein air painting at Tlaquepaque and you don’t have to be members to join us there. You can park in the large parking lot to the right of the facility or to the left along the creek. Don’t set up your easel in front of store entrances.
October 27 and November 3, 9:00, Red Rock Ranger Station, 8375 State Route 179, Sedona, AZ

CHANGE IN LOCATION. Our Dry Beaver Creek location is a no go–parking is too limited, and it’s too hazardous now getting down to the creek. Behind the Sign site where we painted last week now requires hiking down a slippery trail, boulder hopping over a side creek and there’s no room on the boulder-strewn bank since the water is so high.
Instead, we’ll park at the Red Rock Ranger Station, closeby. People who want to paint Bell Rock and Courthouse can paint from the upper parking lot. Those of us who want to paint water and trees can park in the lower parking lot and hike a short way down Woods Canyon trail. There are bathrooms at the ranger station.
October 24, Saturday, Sedona Plein Air Festival Community Event.
All ages and skill levels are welcome to join in this fun, all-inclusive paint-out on the SAC campus and lower lot. For a $15 registration fee, participants can create artwork on-site, sell their finished pieces during the event, and be considered for prizes. Artists may price and sell their work during the event. A 25% commission on sales will go toward supporting the ongoing mission of Sedona Arts Center.
Community Painters have until 12 noon to paint before judging. Awards and sale starting at 12:30 p.m.

October 20, 9:00. Behind the Sign, Village of Oak Creek.
The location is as you come into VOC where the National Forest signs are, off of 179 near Beaverhead Road intersection.
September 29 and October 6, 8:00. Jim Thompson/Brins Mesa Trailhead Parking.
From the junction of Routes 89A and 179, take 89A north 0.3 miles to Jordan Road on the left. Follow Jordan Road into the Jordan Park subdivision and turn left onto Park Ridge Drive at the “T”. Continue 0.4 miles to parking near the gate at the end of a short stretch of unpaved road. There is a short rough patch, but most vehicles should manage it. Great red rock views, some shade, lots of parking, and bathrooms are available.
September 15 and 22, 8:00: Sedona Heritage Museum
Next week we’re meeting at 8:00 at the Sedona Heritage Museum in Sedona at 735 Jordan Rd. Link to the website is HERE: https://sedonamuseum.org/. There’s plenty to paint on the grounds of the museum, including great red rock views, old barns and buildings, and plenty of shady trees. When the gallery opens at 11, you can visit the Sedona is Life: Sedona and Route 66 exhibit.

August 18 and August 25, 8:00: Tlaquepaque
There is ample parking at Tlaquepaque, either in the large parkinglot to the right of the buildings or in front, near the fountain or to the left, near El Rincon. Bathrooms are off the main courtyard. Please be courteous to Tlaquepaque’s vendors and don’t set up in front of a shop entrance. If you like lovely and odd architecture, flowers, fountains and sculpture, this place is for you. You can also paint along Oak Creek under the sycamores if you want to paint water. August 4 and August 11, 8:00: Dead Horse Ranch State Park
Since there is an entry fee and some of us have annual passes, we will meet at the ballpark parking area for our Under the Bridge spot and carpool into the park from there. If you want to meet us in the park after paying the $10 entry fee, we usually paint by the first lagoon under the cottonwoods. There is ample parking and restrooms. July 21, and July 28: Tuzigoot Take-Out on Verde River
This location is the parking lot on the Tuzigoot Road. First right after you cross the bridge. It’s a short walk from the parkinglot to the shady sycamores along the Verde.
July 7, 8:30 – Under the Bridge
Cottonwood, before Dead Horse Park, park adjacent to the Cottonwood Community Garden, located at Riverfront Park, west of the Cottonwood Dog Park
The trail head is to the right of the parking lot, near the community garden. Walk the easy trail down to where the bridge crosses the creek.
